Description

Samorost 3 is an exploration adventure and puzzle game from the award-winning creators of Machinarium and Botanicula. It is Amanita Design’s most ambitious experience to date and a loose continuation of the hit indie games Samorost and Samorost 2.

Samorost 3 follows a curious space gnome who uses the powers of a magic flute to travel across the cosmos in search of its mysterious origins. Visit nine unique and alien worlds teeming with colorful challenges, creatures and surprises to discover, brought to life with beautiful artwork, sound and music.

We recommend playing with headphones for a greater experience!

Baffling and wonderfully weird, Samorost 3 is so different from everyday adventure games that it’s impossible to describe what this amazing experience is actually like. We stumbled across brain teasers entirely by accident as we explored its eerie and beautiful world. There was no pressure to do anything other than marvel at what we found—which was easy.

confusing, in a bad way

The basic controls are extremely vague and confusing. I would often sit there pressing everywhere on the screen desperately trying to go back from the storybook to the game or trying to go to another level once I got the spaceship. In fact I just gave up trying to go anywhere an deleted the app after uselessly trying to navigate the menu. I get having an aesthetic, but please, please label your menu options. Most of the puzzles are unintuitive and based on moon logic and trial and error rather than actually understanding the mechanics. Several interactions end in a very long song from the NPCs which is annoying in a game so reliant on trying the same thing over and over again to find a solution. Being able to pet the dog is cute, but it should not be mandatory and it should not stop me every time I try to go to the left of my house.
It works and the art and sound design are nice so I can’t give it 1 star, but this was deeply confusing and disappointing.
